The AI description of KPIs confuses KPIs with goals or objectives. What can (and should) be phrased according to SMART criteria are targets or goals to be reached which can be linked to KPIs but they are something different. A similar case would be OKRs which are also concrete and time-bound objectives enriched with measurable success criteria. A KPI on the other hand is just the indicator or measurement as such, not a specific value to be reached. Example: - KPI: "Revenue per user = Total revenue / number of users" - SMART objective: "We want to raise the revenue per user by 10% within the next quarter" Based on this fundamental confusion, I'm not sure if the rest of the AI generated article can make any sense :D
