La clave para que en un equipo sus miembros compartan pasa por gener una red de confianza donde todos los miembros se sientan seguros. Solo desde esa seguridad la gente se atreverá a decir que piensa, a corregir o hacer responsables a otros miembros del equipo. En los equipos en los que no hay confianza, hay una falsa paz, la gente evita el conflicto y sin decirnos las cosas para mejorar, el compromiso se resiente entre los miembros del equipo y su líder. Por último sin compromiso, no hay responsabilidades, la gente abdica de sus responsabilidades y al final los resultados se ven afectados y comienza la decadencia del "imperio". Cultivar la confianza es la clave del todo.

We have found that in many situations you actually see what you are looking for. So train your mind to look for something new. Just think about, if you are walking in the streets and you look for green cars. You will probably not register that many blue cars. Imagine you have a brainstorm meeting about a new way of working. You focus your mind on searching for something that you are NOT doing today. That will drive your thinking towards new ideas. It sounds simple, but sometimes simplicity can bring great ideas.

My innovation team and I started with a thourough investigation on the frontrunners in our organisation: colleagues who were ahead of us and lived the new innovative strategy every day. We started by helping them overcome challenges, by providing a small budget or by activate higher management. Every time we succeeded, we applauded the innovators and gave them the credit. We had them share their stories in our podcast and magazine, to motivate others to do join in. In this way, we created a change network, that was very excited to share ideas, because they knew it was the way for them to overcome barriers, get positive attention for their ideas and helping colleagues in the process.
