The first profound encounter learnt ,in my practice of circuit reading in the early 90's, was when my lecturer emphasized to our electronics Craft level class, to always read ,a units schematic diagram and theory of operation , before delving into it's repair. Believe ,you me, you can cling on that 100%,without any adverse expectation!

I use a cheap little web cam with a lens that can be focused , makes great pics of tiny details , before and after pics are standard and the customers like them , can be e-mailed or printed, the printed pics get shown a lot and are great advertising . Also makes identifying very small part numbers simple and easy and the whole set up cost $10 but the results look great and make explanations easy . a picture is worth a thousand words
