The self-service model also allows slower learners or people who access the information less-often to feel like less of a burden, as they can refer to the training any time without inconveniencing co-workers.

You should create a feedback loop to collect and analyze data on your training effectiveness, team satisfaction, and cost optimization results. Sharing a scorecard can be uncomfortable, at first. Team scorecards help the free loader and hurt the hard workers. Scorecards must track individual performance and team objectives. This approach forces teammates to work together to achieve common goals. As an example, when we started sharing ITO data amongst the Material Planning team, there were good trends and there were bad trends. The team members that were not achieving reductions were slightly embarrassed or even mad at their lack of results. This lead to a tremendous amount of collaboration, which further spurred healthy competition. Team scorecards mean very little without breaking out the individual contributions of each team member.
