How does LC differ from the hermeneutic loop (HL) -- the continuous improvement or "plan-act-test-modify" etc. loops so prevalent? Should LC be regarded as an instantiation of HL in the given domain, or is there a substantial novelty over HL that I am missing?

Learning cycles such as standards and some sort of end goal. The student will be tested eventually on what they know. Units vary depending on goals and students engagement. Every class is different and student led teaching would allow students to control a conversation while the teacher is a facilitator.

Learning cycles are good to hone in on with children it allows you to gain an understanding of where the child is and with your expertise; you can form a lesson plan of that child.

Collaborative learning is the way to grow. There are insights from other teachers, experiences they may have seen that you have not. There are always ways to grow being a teacher. Constant learning and adaptations to the new environment of an arrangement of different kids on different levels.

If you are analyzing data you have a scope and an end game to where you want the child to be. This requires planning with purpose and detail. A team, as a department should have a set scope and sequence that they follow. This way other teachers later on in the students career will be able to know what to expect. This will allow teachers to plan for their next cycle of students.

Learning cycles can come in a variety of formats, depending on the specific needs and preferences of a teaching team. For example, lesson study involves a group of teachers planning, observing, and analyzing a lesson with a focus on a certain topic, strategy, or student outcome. They then revise and re-teach the lesson based on the feedback they receive from their peers. Action research is another form of learning cycle, where teachers identify a problem or question in their practice, collect and analyze data, implement changes or interventions, and evaluate their effectiveness. I have found this helpful when working with mental delayed students. If the classroom is open and teachers & aides( paraprofessionals) can see, hear and feel the reactions of the students then one of the group can led a positive and encouraging change to fit the situation. Since everyone has a different learning and teaching style it behoves the administration to hire teachers that do not think the standard way of teaching. But have various experiences, ages and may come from a different culture.

Again, this is a nice analysis of how teaching must be done to be effective. The only thing I would add is to never forget to devote time, at the completion of teaching a subject to place the subject in its larger context. For example, you teach evolution as best as you can -- but make sure at the end the students get a feeling of its "Big History" relationships, the difficulty of knowing how life started on Earth and what the aim of the evolution is if there is any. Or you can teach geography -- but make sure at the end of your lessons on a continent involves an online internet connection to a same-grade class on that continent so that your students can chat with real-life people on that continent in real-life environment.
