In B2B marketing, it’s useful to group your audience by their role in the company. Complex B2B sales is usually done by committee, and each member has a role to play in the process. 1. Certainly there will be a buyer, whose job is to evaluate price vs. quality and negotiate terms. 2. There is probably a technical expert involved (could be an IT person, engineer, scientist, etc.) 3. There’s likely someone who will use, introduce, implement or sell it (marketing, HR, production manager, etc.) Each ‘role’ or ‘audience’ is looking at their own piece of the puzzle and needs to hear different messaging in order to engage. That’s why B2B marketing is so much fun!

People quite quickly spot 'sales content' so it is important to try to stay away from being overly salesy. Content where your audience learns something new can be a powerful driver to engagement.
