How do you craft a professional and personalized email introduction?

Always think about what's in it for them. The recipient has a million things they are doing and thinking about, and you don't want to make that a million and one. Instead, make your email something that they get excited about. It could be as simple as an article, a compliment, a connection to someone in your network. Whatever it is, make sure you're thinking from their perspective - what could be helpful to them?

Prezado(a) [Nome], Espero que este e-mail o(a) encontre bem. Sou [Seu Nome], [Sua Posi??o] na [Nome da Sua Empresa]. Estou entrando em contato para explorar possíveis oportunidades de colabora??o entre nossas organiza??es, especialmente após [breve contexto ou conex?o relevante]. Gostaria de discutir [assunto principal] e marcar uma reuni?o para aprofundarmos a conversa. Estou disponível [sua disponibilidade] e ficarei grato(a) por sua considera??o. This is an area I find too few dig into. I picked up this line from @Samantha McKenna, "Show Them, You Know Them. Everyone... appreciates being seen and that you're interest is more than a transaction. At a minimum, review their profile and find something interesting about them -- their background or something in a recent post. Want to go deeper... google them to see if they're in the news, podcast or have spoken at a conference. That short time spent will amount to massive traction and encourage improved rapport.

LinkedIn is perfect for this. Look up the recipient's LinkedIn Profile. Make sure to highlight something that stands out to you as well as how it relates to the intent of your message. This shows you're not just spamming them, but you took the time to look up their profile & have genuine interest. What works for me is also sending them a recent/relevant article that pertains to their niche, thus providing some value to your reach out.

If you are connected to the person in some way (same school, referred by someone), mention it in the subject line. It will increase the odds that they read the email. If you're not connected to them, reference something they recently posted or accomplished.

If asking for a meeting, make it easy for them to schedule it. Offer times, or a Calendly link, or simply ask them to let you know when they are available and you'll make it work for your schedule. The simpler the request is for them to complete, the more likely it is to be done.

Use a P.S! P.S's have long been a direct mail marketing strategy. That's because statistically as many as 79% percent of people who read the PS first. Email marketers swear by it as a way to reiterate a call to action, create FOMO, provide some sort of bonus information or offer, or even share a testimonial. It's the personal touch that can make your email memorable and unique. PS: I had a client interviewing at Google. The interviewer mentioned he was going to Key West on vacation. Her PS: included the best tiki bars to visit. She didn't get the job but made it to the final round.
