If we consider the Indian construction industry, then we are much behind in adaptation of lean or leveraging BIM, IOT etc. However we can still develop our construction by having a tight grip on the design and procurement activities. In EPC, mostly the concentration remains on C (construction) but the E and P are neglected by the project managers, mostly because they are either done centrally or are not so much of a concern on cost point of view. What we miss is the time perspective and the indirect effects of cost. We must keep check on timelines of deliverables related to engineering and procurement. Rest parts are mostly under the direct supervision of the project managers and can be managed well.

De esta forma es más fácil que las personas puedan identificar oportunidades de mejora y que las capacitaciones sean más efectivas, reconociendo que muchas veces las capacitaciones extienden el horario laboral y las personas muchas veces fallan o participan inactivamente y solo por cumplir, lo cual termina no beneficiando ni a la organización y mucho menos al trabajador.

To improve the construction management, there is dire need to take all the project stake holders on a common agenda so that resources from all sides can be gathered. After that before going into any new practice, it is necessary to check its engineering viability. Then, the project team should be trained to accept new policies, adopt new SOPs and practice in a new way. Without stakeholders approvals, and team ownership, construction management can be found only in papers but not on site.
