If you are using Zoom, there are fun ways that you can encourage participation. I ask participants to privately chat me with their answers to my questions so they don't feel judged in front of the group. Then I share answers anonymously. Having participants use the annotate feature is fun. They can put stamps next to the answer they choose. They also can write their takeaways on a whiteboard/blank slide. Also, you've got so many plug-ins nowadays. You could have fun with all sorts of activities as ice breakers or for brain breaks.

Whichever platform you are using, when delivering the leadership training course, it is essential to discuss the aims of the course and understand the expectations of participants from the beginning. Sometimes, there is confusion about what the aim of the course is and what?is being delivered. One thing I have found is that these need to be made clear at the outset, otherwise, the danger is there will be a misunderstanding regarding the course, and the learning will be hampered.? When everyone understands why they are here and what they are going to learn, that helps, as everyone knows the purpose. This is a great method to ensure that anything that is not clear to participants, has an opening to be discussed and clarified.

3 Be active and proactive
