How do you communicate between DOM elements and JavaScript?

DOM elements and JavaScript communicate primarily through events and methods. Events like click, hover, and input trigger JavaScript functions when users interact with DOM elements. JavaScript can manipulate DOM elements using methods like getElementById, querySelector, and addEventListener to access, modify, and respond to changes in DOM structure and content. This interaction enables dynamic and responsive web applications.

There are two ways of doing this: 1- Old-school imperative way 2- New declarative way The old way of handling DOM manipulations and the connection between JavaScript code with them was imperative, so we needed to implement every detail that we need to change in the DOM in our code using DOM queries. The new way on the other hand which is used in modern libraries and frameworks like React, Vue, Angular is the declarative way. We just say what we want and they will do all the DOM manipulations under the hood.

Therefore, Selectors API is your element-finding tool and event listeners are the ones that make them truly interactive.
