Combining creativity, intuition, and data in design is a complex process, but the double diamond model provides a framework for approaching it. This model consists of four phases—discover, define, develop, and deliver—each of which requires different techniques and tools from the three elements. During the discover phase, creativity techniques can be used to generate ideas, intuition techniques to empathize with users and their context, and data techniques to collect qualitative and quantitative information. In the define phase, creativity tools are used to organize and evaluate ideas, intuition tools to synthesize and communicate user insights, and data tools to validate or invalidate assumptions. Developing solutions for user problems requires creativity techniques for generating solutions, intuition techniques for empathizing with users' expectations, and data techniques for collecting feedback. Finally, refining and implementing the best solution in the deliver phase requires creativity tools for polishing the solution, intuition tools for ensuring that it meets user needs and desires, and data tools to measure and improve it.
