Disciplined communication is critical. Regular and defined input from the major stakeholders is important. Utilizing a responsible "Master" to document the input, timely distributing for concurrence and issuance of the final product for the time period is important and again repeat on a regular interval compatible to the complexity of the project. Input from the Superintendents and critical contractors and suppliers is vital. Construction is executed from the bottom up not the top down!

Agreed, however, if common software is not possible due to the diverse industry requirement or conventions, find a node software that will clash the diverse inputs to a common reviewable format to discuss, troubleshoot, coordinate and distribute back to the involved stakeholders for incorporation into the agreed upon plan.

Know your place in the "pecking order" and who has the ultimate responsibility for ultimate project goal. CPM product is a documented reality of all the input of the project team. CPM Schedulers digest informed input into a useable product to be constantly modified and improved as the success builds.
