I close job offers by emphasizing our positive company culture, growth opportunities, and unique benefits. I communicate the candidate's value to the team and express genuine enthusiasm about them joining us.

Always make sure throughout the interview process that you are honest and setting clear expectations about how the process will proceed and try to establish if your pay will align with a candidates needs as early as possible. The interview process works both ways and is in someway like a sales process. You want to be very positive, transparent, and clear about the role early on. This will give you a better chance of a positive outcome at the offer stage and demonstrate that you value the candidates time.

It is vital to have a comp plan ready with complete comp structure including cash and non-cash benefits and overall cost to the Company. Then based on the internal band and candidates skills/experience, off the position, and compensation. Walk the candidate through everything including cultural aspects, growth opportunities, communication, learning and exposure via call or meeting. Your chances of successful closure will be 100% if you will follow through this else the candidate may not join

Temperature Check: Quick call to gauge what they're looking for. The Offer: Email the details—salary, benefits, etc., then follow up with a call to discuss. Sell the Vision: Briefly outline the company culture and growth potential. Address Concerns: Listen and tackle any hesitations or questions they've got. Timeframe: Give 'em 48-72 hours to decide, but make it known we're also looking at other candidates. Seal the Deal: Once they're in, get that contract or offer letter signed and prep 'em for onboarding.

Not only the transparency of the package but also the timing of this information is important. The earlier you speak about the whole package with the candidate the better. If you wait until the final round to talk about your salary, perks and benefits this can lead to wasted time and disappointment for both parties.

An initial phone call to the candidate outlining offer is the go to but then a formally email advise is good as well. Attach offer and send your congratulatory email on the candidate being successful. Also, let them know that you are available to answer any questions they may have. Keep the lines of communication open and make yourself available.

This is a great time to ask if they have any questions and give them a chance to counter your offer or express any concerns or questions. You don't have to have all the answers but you can revert their questions to internal parties who can help answer them.

Communication should be continuous throughout the hiring cycle. If your internal feedback is positive, your TA staff should be testing the waters with the Candidate in terms of their interest throughout the hiring cycle. Most importantly, TA should be looking for things that may have been misinterpreted during the interviews to help keep the Candidate interested and informed.

Always be a good listener when connecting with the candidate. No need to answer all the questions but make sure you address them and build the confidence with the candidate as in they are approaching the correct person. Understand their terms and be supportive. If need to put points give them an example in general and let them understand the situation.

Have a clear transparent process on both sides i.e the client and candidate expectations. The sourcing stage is very critical here, with the economic factors affecting the market globally sometimes the market rates differ with different organizations, salary standardization is not across all orgs.

The "deal" isn't truly closed until the new hire starts with your firm. If they are currently employed, you had best talk through Counter-Offers, and stay in regular contact with the Candidate until they are able to start with your firm. You should also be mindful of their onboarding experience, you can lose a good match quite easily if you don't. Changing jobs is stressful and sometimes irrational fears can be generated with your potential new hire, so make sure you track with them during their notice period at their current employer. Otherwise, don't be shocked if you get a no-show.

Congratulate them, don't forget to let them know next move, whether they need to send some personal document, or just make sure to the user what the employee needs to prepare before they first day. During waiting for their period in their current job, still maintain good communication, and let them know that you are excited to support them in any way.

Even if the offer has been accepted, still be in touch with the candidate. Keep them warm and ask to help in a successful bgv process. Keep in touch with them until they join the organisation. Send them the welcome email, goodies and other requirements, so that they can start feeling like work already. Involve them in official conversations and trail mails (which is needed), so that they can feel the transparency the trust can be built.

Before the rejection, we usually already has a few steps, communicate and negotiate as well with the candidate. Let's be a bit careful on this one, networking with potential candidates is a great idea, but let's not be posting roles just to gather resumes. Use your ATS to keep track of folks who have applied to you when you have an actual need, communicate positively with those potential hires so the door is open to future consideration. Don't ghost anyone and don't post positions to the Candidate Community that are just to gather resumes for future needs that may never come.

I found that having a potential candidate pool from multiple sources is crucial to ensure higher close rate of candidates. I diversify my pool with candidates from Linkedin, social media communities about professional niches. And especially enjoy collaborations with career centers, alumni communities from academia and professional training programs - They will do the extra mile to have a fruitful collaboration with industry partners.

Most times, offers are not accepted because critical things were ignored at the start of the process. Don't ignore the pale pink flags, address them and check the candidates feelings on them. If their response is, "let's see how it goes", that's not good enough when you know nothing will change on the company's side. Don't be afraid to lose the candidate early on to save everyone's time.

It’s crucial to remember that closing a candidate begins when you first establish contact with a prospective candidate. That is when you take the time to understand what their goals are, why are they looking, where do they need to be at compensation wise so it makes sense to move or change their job. Throughout the interview process and especially before the final interview it’s important to ask if anything has changed since you last spoke to them, do they have any other offers, are they still as interested in this role as when they started the interview process. If you’ve built that relationship, they will be upfront with you. Closing should happen with, every interaction and not at the end when the offer is being generated.

Be sure to inform everyone where they stand in the application process (even if they weren’t selected) This is especially pertinent if they have been through several steps in the recruitment process. If possible, give them feedback on what they could improve on or what didn’t hit the mark during the interviews. A personal call or email is appreciated. Too often when a position closes, candidates are left in the dark with no closure or (just as bad) an automatic response from the system. A candidate who had a bad application experience will not be a good brand ambassador so don’t forget about those not selected. They deserve to know where they stand.
