I use the Datacolor Spyder X Elite to calibrate my monitors. You are able to do a special type called studio calibration where it will get all the different monitors you have looking very close. I don’t think you can get them dead on the same but you can get very close. You simply just follow the software and do what it says, then save the profile. You can update every 30 days.

I find the Datacolor Spyder calibration tool to be a necessary tool in your photography business. Having your monitor to be as close as possible to your prints is critical and will save you lots of trouble in the future. You should do it every month to be consistent in your work.

This is critical! Don’t have a window behind you. You also want to turn off the “night time” affect and any auto brightness settings.

I don't calibrate in a dark or dimly lit room. I calibrate in a room with good bright white light, the same one I use while editing.

The calibration tool should walk you right through the process. Just follow the prompts and you should be good to go. One thing to note is that you should not have a light pointing at the screen or a big window behind you. I edit in the dark so I try to calibrate in the dark as well.

I have never calibrated my camera or heard of people doing this for color! Maybe it is a thing but I generally tether my camera to a computer and am able to adjust the color on the computer.

I have never met a photographer that calibrates their camera, just make sure your settings and white balance are good and anything else you should be able to fix later on.

You should always have prints ready to calibrate your monitor to check it was done correctly. If you don't check your prints, you'll have problems in the future and will probably spend more money than necessary printing your photos again.

Just today my calibration reminder went off and I recalibrated (3) screens. All three were way off. I have realized that a months use does make enough difference in color and brightness.
