I have found the key is to just get started and consistently show up. Whether it's peer groups, networking events or here on LinkedIn, letting go of any insecurity and embracing being uncomfortable is the best way to get started. Actively participating will lead to meeting more people and growing your network. The more you put in, the more you will receive and as a result, you will maintain your network. Be open to helping others and don't be afraid to ask for help. As the Chinese proverb says, "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now."

Create communities and professional networks if your country or region doesn't have them. Here in Brazil, I've managed to build a strong network through my LinkedIn and a community focused on sharing insights, and the benefits have been excellent for everyone. While most of the content is in English, Spanish, and some from Europe, we need to establish solid foundations and reflect what makes sense for our country. If your country doesn't have one yet, collaborate with other professionals to create a secure and community-driven space for insights, consumer insights, and research. Expand the language and make a space to them talk about their jobs, cases and in case of having time, create lives and community rituals.
