I poll attendees before class to discover topics that everyone wants to learn most about so I know where to focus most of the time-- I cover all of the material, but I spend more time in areas the attendees are interested. I also look at the titles and tenure of the attendees who make the suggestions (CFO, production lead, etc.) to know how deeply I should go in these areas of interest. After each training I take another poll to see how satisfied they feel with the level of training received. I use these results to tailor my training for the next time (example) a newly hired accountant asks me to cover product cost.
