An effective BI design starts Business intents, Intelligence is an ability to be employed to navigate business in the competitive market. Therefore, we should with business imperatives and high level goals as a reference point. 2nd preliminary step that being missed often is Scope for a phased cascading of high-level business objectives. This phase represent “less is more” through a well-defined pilot in the organization and go through rest of processes in decimation phase. My experiences in mid-large scale organization shows a “proof of BI model” is saving huge time and effort including friction prevention
