I like finding meet up groups for the topics I am interested in, and attend those as frequently as possible with the intent to meet people and understand how the conversation is framed in the new area. Always remember to ask the questions you want to know the answers to, but only after you can ask in a way that is understood by the listener. That sounds silly, but too many coaches come in hot and put me off immediately. Show me you know things first, then tell me you can teach me those things :)
