How did you overcome graphic design challenges?

I agree with this statement for sure. It’s really good to take yourself away from a challenge for a little while just to gain some fresh perspective. I find that tapping into your inner child mindset allows for imagination to take over and for new, creative ideas to flourish. Laughing, being playful and mindful are three key ingredients not only to relieving stress and pressure, but to allow your brain to become naturally creative again. On the copy/plagiarism note: it’s okay to take elements of pieces of design and make them your own, or even to experiment in your private studio. Just try to avoid publishing anything that you’ve copied like-for-like publicly, as you could run into copyright issues.

A great way to limit your inspiration is by only looking at ideas that have already been done in that medium/media channel. My advice is to look outside of your specific channel. Look at paintings, video games, or art installations and imagine translating those principles into whatever you're working on, it can really put a fresh perspective on what's been done before (or overdone).

When I am lacking inspiration for a project or a piece, I think it's important to put yourself in the shoes of the audience that will be viewing your work, instead of wearing the shoes of the designer creating them. It helps break whatever boxes you create for yourself or your artwork - and think of innovative and contextual ideas for your artwork. I always tell my designer friends and those seeking advice - imagine you were asked to create a billboard. The artist sees a constrained rectangle, but the driver whose attention you're trying to grab sees a massive tower and devouring that message!

People talk a lot about the idea of having a "growth mindset" but I think struggle to put the teachings around that idea into practice. Here are 2 ways to apply growth mindset principles to learning new skills 1. Transform frustration into curiosity - why did that happen? Could it be useful in a different way? Have others overcome this challenge? - this requires patience and kind self-reflection 2. Stop trying to prevent "rabbit-hole" learning - If I see something while scrolling through socials, I allow myself to wander, download a new app, watch tutorials, or sign up for a free trial - often we limit ourselves by thinking something is "too much effort"

I intentionally schedule time on my calendar for 2 things, to take continuous improvement classes and to go out and interact with the world. My team knows that every Friday after lunch, I'll be taking a class to perform my job either better, or in innovative ways. It's also important to go out and look at the changing world around you - take a camera, take a sketchbook, or even a journal, and just write what you see. This helps bring intentionality to your observation. Over time, you'll start to see design trends that might not have been on your radar originally. Always ask yourself, if someone asked me to do this - how would I do it? Do you have the skills you need to accomplish this? If not - there's your list of things to learn!

Some time management schedule: * Create to-do list. * Select important task. * Activate your creative mode. * Stop wasting your time. * Find some good resources. * Take care your laptop or computer. * Take a break. * And reward yourself after completing the task.

This is probably one of the most challenging aspect of working as a graphic designer. We’re inherently passionate about our craft and criticism can be a large deterrent in pursuing what we love. Here are top 3 advices I got as a young designer from my mentors ?? 1. ? Stay open minded : Approach criticism with an open and receptive mindset, valuing the opportunity for improvement. 2. ? Separate Emotion from Feedback : Detach your emotions from the criticism, focusing on the constructive aspects rather than taking it personally. Learning from criticism is the best thing we can do! 3. ? Maintain Self-Confidence : Remember your strengths and past successes to maintain self-assurance, even in the face of criticism.
