"Continuous flow of words" is never a good idea. Your script should be more of a mind-map than a paragraph. With some practice, this approach will help your imagination/creativity grow and benefit in all kinds of on-stage situations.

I write talking points, not a script. I will also plan out interactive parts that require props obviously, but keep these to a minimum. I find it's best to know what you want to say but speak authentically and engage with your audience as and where they actually are.

You can't possibly be a great emcee if you're not attentive, alert and ready to improvise. Great emcees are, first and foremost, great listeners and astute observers, with impressive non-verbal communication skills. Reading and intelligently responding to non-verbal cues is a super-important dimension to this job.
