For example, a SMART learning objective for a customer service training could be: "By the end of this training, you will be able to apply the 5-step process for handling customer complaints effectively and professionally." This objective should be precise in what the learner will be able to do after the training, including criteria or indicators that can verify and evaluate the achievement of the objective. Additionally, it should be realistic and attainable given the time and resources available as well as relevant to the learner's needs and interests. Lastly, the objective should include a deadline or timeframe for achieving it.
One tool I use is the topic, body and conclusion theory if you call it by that name. It is not a theory per day but a framework. For example What is the topic- Cutting trees. The body will be - How do you cut the trees? The conclusion then becomes why cut the trees. Those are 3 objectives already. Precise and to the point!!

When writing learning objectives, avoid common mistakes that can reduce their effectiveness and clarity. Vague or ambiguous verbs like understand, know, learn, or appreciate should be avoided. Additionally, the number of objectives should match the scope and duration of the training. Furthermore, mixing different levels of learning or cognitive domains should be avoided. The focus should be on the learner's actions and performance to be achieved, rather than the trainer's actions or content to be covered. Finally, objectives should be relevant, meaningful, and engaging for the learner and take into account their perspective and motivation.
The purpose of a learning intervention is to help someone build the requisite knowledge or skill to accomplish an objective that’s both meaningful to the individual and the company. The objective(s) should be a reflection of that. That means it should be framed in a way that clearly outlines what the experience is designed to give to the individual and why it matters. And, it should be written in common language. Way too often these things get structured and delivered like they’re for a dissertation. You’re explaining to regular people why what they’re about to experience matters, so explain it to them that way.
