It's purpose should be to attract federal buyers and teammates - not to get a million views or subscribers. The idea, for federal market BD folks, is to actually get viewers out of YouTube and over into LinkedIn so you have them as a connection. So that you can develop a relationship. Once there, you can begin to transition them to email, one-on-one meetings, etc.

One of the best ways to start your presentation is to do some homework before you ever open your mouth on stage. Get to the talk early, meet and mingle if the opportunity presents itself, grab a few names, ask what people do, and if possible...What would they like to get from your presentation? When you get on podium scan the audience and make eye contact with these few people. Relax. Two suggestions. If I develop a streamlined process, that could help others in my industry, I record and upload it to YouTube. The funny thing is when I forget how to do it I can simply search and find my own videos on YouTube! They establish your authority and once you hit the YouTube criteria you can start earning money from YouTube views. So I have been able to develop it as an extra stream of income.

You want to engage with other creators or experts like you on LinkedIn. That's where you'll have massive audience growth in the federal market. It also allows you to maximize your time. You just don't have time to sit on YouTube engaging in the comments when you can't see who the other people are. In LinkedIn, you can see the 'actual' person your engaging with - their company, their colleagues, etc.

Your ultimate goal is to have people connect with you on LinkedIn and be part of your email list on your website. You should only be promoting those. In fact, I recommend only promoting LinkedIn connection/following and then driving them to your website as you demonstrate more value. This will ensure the people coming to your email list are much stronger connections.
