One thing I have found helpful is to gather as much information from stakeholders as possible while also collecting their ideas for solutions. I do collect data but would classify myself as creative problem solver to be open to the best solution. I find staff to be open to innovative ideas especially when they have input. The end result is all that more rewarding.
