Now in this current era, one should use technology with its fullest capacity (given cost benefit matches). Recurring tasks should be automated with self start with using latest BI tools and use manual intervention where there are decisions taken capacity required or value addition needed .

In my opinion technology drives better control over the task in hand. our skills will definitely improve once we start using technology. Power BI Tools, finance models in access and Excel, there many technical tools to make the work faster and get more time to explore new ways of analytics to analyse KPIs and OKRs as well.

There are several avenues and techniques that can help automate mundane and run-of-the-mill tasks. One can explore the #MicrosoftExcel and use Macros, formulas and pivot tables for creating reports and analysis. There are several dashboards and reports that can be extracted from ERP systems as well. However, much depends on the #ERP system. Most today are dynamic, shareable and integrate data. An even more latest avenue is #CloudBasedAccountingSystems.

With technology, data is here to stay. The #ERP or #Cloud system stores and secures the data. Another aspect is that technology helps reduce human errors to a considerable degree. What can also be done with technologies is limit access to specific stakeholders through #passwordprotection, #authentication and #authoritycontrol. These reduce the risk of data tampering and manipulation. In terms of external risks, systems usually have antivirus and firewall protection that prevents hacking.
