High budget productions and animated features often use Flix, or a proprietary storyboard management software. They are expensive and designed to integrate with Photoshop, with tools that allow publishing to AVID Media Composer.

Storyboard Pro has a lot of great animatic editing tools, but if you want the full suite of editing, sound design/mixing, and exporting capabilities, you will need to use Premiere Pro or AVID Media Composer. Davinci Resolve is also a free alternative, but isn’t generally used with animation workflows. You can export an XML from Storyboard Pro to import into Premiere, or an AAF to import into AVID. These files will create a new sequence in your NLE of choice and preserve your editing work from Storyboard Pro.
The sixth and final step is to export your animatic, using the format and quality that suits your purpose and platform. You can use storyboarding software to export your animatic as a video file, a PDF file, or an image sequence. You can also choose the resolution, frame rate, and compression of your animatic. By exporting your animatic, you can use it as a reference, a pitch, or a preview for your final animation.
