By utilizing spatial analysis, we not only gain answers and make informed choices, but also unearth patterns that may have gone unnoticed on a map alone. As with everything in life and even in science, there is no recipe for a cake, because sometimes we need to go back and forth on certain points of the "recipe" to get our result. Raw data cannot be used directly for any purpose. It has to be synthesized according to goal and software. Data availability for longer periods or large areas may also be useful in selecting desired information. All the data or information should be correlated with other factors affecting the inputs or results before arriving at the conclusion.

Studying the history of the studied region may be useful geologically, geographically and economically. In the end, more accurate information and details mean a more accurate and better decision.

Food insecurity occurs when a person (or family) does not have access to enough healthy food to meet their needs. Its causes are diverse: food shortages, supply problems, insufficient production, loss of income (unemployment), poverty, high prices, climate change. However, it can be chronic or temporary. At first glance, it can already be seen from a temporal perspective. By mapping hotspots and those with the highest hunger and low-income indices, cross-referenced with supply level data, they can provide a general spatialized understanding that can help with decision-making and the formulation of public policies.

One of the things that we did in our study of housing insecurity in rural areas was that we tried to identify the notion of a rural community. Unlike urban areas with high population concentrations, rural areas have to band together to leverage resources. As such, we had to run effectively a neighbor filter across the map to smooth the data out a bit.
