How can you use solution-focused therapy to help clients identify their goals during mediation?
Mediation is a process of resolving disputes between parties with the help of a neutral third party, called a mediator. As a social worker, you may be involved in mediation as a mediator, a co-mediator, or a support person for your client. In any case, you need to help your client identify their goals and interests, and work towards a mutually acceptable solution. One way to do that is to use solution-focused therapy, a brief and positive approach that focuses on the client's strengths, resources, and preferred future.
