The SCORE model is a simple and flexible framework that can be used to structure coaching conversations and guide a coachee through problem-solving. It consists of five steps that can be adapted to any situation or goal. In the first step, the Situation, your coachee needs to describe the current context and main issue they want to address. The second step is Causes, where you help them identify the root causes of the issue, any obstacles, and any gaps in their knowledge or skills. Outcomes is the third step, where you encourage your coachee to define the desired outcomes, benefits, and criteria for success. The fourth step is Resources where you explore with your coachee the available resources, strengths, and opportunities they can leverage to achieve their goals. Finally, in Evidence you agree with your coachee on the actions, milestones, and indicators that will show their progress and results.
