After this, create a scenario matrix with two axes and four quadrants. Each quadrant should represent a different scenario that combines two extreme values of the drivers and uncertainties. Then analyze and compare the scenarios to identify implications and actions for your time management. Finally, monitor and update the scenarios, revising your time management accordingly. In the application of scenario planning to time management “Positive Mental Attitude (PMA)” is the key. PMA means thinking about all the alternatives that take you to your goal. For example, against an event, your mind creates a thought/feeling that lead to an attitude and behavior. That behaviour may trigger a negative result that may prevent you from reaching your goal if it is the first and only one. Therefore, a person with PMA always thinks about the results of their planned behaviours and choses the best for the goal. After having this attitude creating and choosing the best scenarios are easier. Think at least twice and ask which action is the best for your goal. Focus on it.

Time management of a project is like managing your travel from one point to a targeted location. You chose among different ways. If you don’t know which road lead to where, you are like a blind person. The widest road may not be the best one. Scenario planning makes you see where each road lead and you chose the best for you to reach your target location within minimum time period.

Scenario planning is an ongoing and iterative process that requires practice and refinement. To get started, choose a focal question or issue that is relevant and important for your time management, and do some research to identify the key drivers and uncertainties. Create a scenario matrix with four scenarios that represent different combinations of the drivers and uncertainties, and provide names and summaries for each. Analyze the scenarios to identify implications and actions for your time management, review and update them regularly, then share and discuss them with others. You mind is like a basket of negative and positive thoughts. It gives you one whenever you require, and the first one is generally negative. Every thought that you change from negative to positive is and additional positive in the basket. This can be made thinking again, comparing the thoughts and choosing the best (positive) for your goal. After you start changing the negative thoughts to positive and make this a habit, positive thoughts will get majority in the basket to give you the positive (with higher probability) thought at first thinking. This is the creation of your positive mental attitude. Use your PMA before each of your actions. It will become a habit and will be easily used in scenarios planning.
