How can you use persuasion to address social justice issues?

Persuasion is a strategy that works in the short term, even if it often distances the right solution over time, therefore it is not always as useful as one might think. The only case in which persuading is legitimate is when there is an emergency situation, this event must be short-lived, if it exceeds a week, for example, and it doesn't work, it means that you have the wrong strategy and it is not the fault of persuasion, but of vision of the social problem. Justice has such deep roots that it is already a weapon in itself and its double edge is inevitable, it takes centuries to build its foundations, it takes an instant for them to collapse and it is not with persuasion that a responsible, inclusive and healthy society.

The first important step in using persuasion to address social justice issues is to understand your audience. This will ensure you tailor your message to resonate with their values and concerns. The next step is to tell a compelling story. Humanise the issue through personal stories and use visuals (photos, video, infographics) to evoke empathy. Also, back up your stories with evidence and verifiable statistics. And lastly, specify the actions to be taken at the end of your speech.

From my PoV, you must be ethical in your persuasion and stand up for truth and justice. Never manipulate your audience but treat them with respect.

A clear example of seizing the moment is posting a gofundme link for a cause when the public has clamored in unison for that link to give their financial support. Seizing the moment at the right time will deliver the pulse of the audience , fleetingly and this should be used very carefully and for the right reasons. Social justice is not always real Justice. It can be done in error and it can be life changing positively. Seize or attempt to seize the moment with caution.

Don’t. There is no such thing as “social justice.” There is justice, and injustice. Period. All else is both pandering by to “aggrieved” groups and fomenting racism and envy. Neither serves society.
