How can you use NLP to summarize long documents?

To adjust the temperature, you'd typically modify the parameter in the API call or software interface, thereby directly influencing the model's output. Balancing temperature is pivotal: too high may produce erratic results, while too low might suppress inventive, engaging content creation. Adjusting it enables tailoring the output to specific use-case requirements.

The easiest way is to build a prompt like "Please summarize the document below in X words <document>", and GPT will quickly do it. That's a task in which even earlier versions of GPT, like GPT-3 and even GPT-2 perform relatively well. The main constraint is the size of the document. GPT has a limit on the number of tokens in the input it receives and the output it produces called the "context window", that in 2023 is 16,000 for GPT-3.5 and 32,000 for GPT-4. If your document is larger, you can use a different model. Claude's context window is 100,000, or break your documents into chunks and summarize each one separately. There are limit

The other is the lack of high-quality data on which the NLP model has been trained, leading to a risk of overfitting.Furthermore, the cost of acquiring such domain-specific data might be higher compared to general datasets. One way to address this challenge might be through synthetic text generation for domain-specific documents including active learning by having a human in the loop for specific domain knowledge.
