With all the resources out there, there are a few things to remember: 1?? In order to receive, you must be willing to give. Ever see someone keeping the knowledge to themselves? Make sure you are sharing with others to put it in the ether for the “next you”. If you don’t break that cycle, who will? 2?? There are other options to move besides up and stop. If you gain confidence and competence in a skill, you can move laterally to a similar job to gain skills even without a pay raise. The additional perspective will grow your experience exponentially. Promotions can happen later. 3?? Podcasts are a great tool to learn your specific field and those adjacent without a financial cost. Ensure you know how you relate to the big picture.

As a lifelong learner, there have been times when I have been just too exhausted to learn.. meaning "not another new technology" or "I am really in love with this one, I don't want to learn another". When I start to think like that, I use Mel Robbins, 5 second rule... within 5 seconds I start... "Your mind has about a 5-second window before you start to over think things. This can include getting up in the morning, introducing yourself to others, speaking in a meeting etc. when you act within those 5 seconds you interrupt your brain from going into overthinking mode and you do what you always wanted to do."
