Un ejemplo potente que vi fue el de proponer a un grupo de estudiantes resolver un problema de impacto ambiental vinculado a la separación de residuos en su comunidad escolar. Desde la propuesta se buscó desarrollar en la población escolar la separación en particular de papel blanco y la colecta de diarios con aportes de las familias. Se colectaba periódicamente el papel y se vendía a una empresa dedicada al reciclado. Lo recaudado con la venta del papel se destinaba a fines benéficos. La evaluación auténtica consistía en registrar las acciones llevadas a cabo, determinar si el hábito de separación del papel iba en crecimiento, las edades de estudiantes más involucrados, el compromiso de las familias y el trabajo de la recicladora.
