This will demonstrate your respect for other's time and contributions. Always maintain a professional yet friendly tone in your communication. Avoid language that could be perceived as rude or aggressive. The critical point is friendly. I've built some of my strongest relationships with senior leaders and peers through effective communication. I love Slack channels for more personal interactions and by having more informal ways to communicate especially when remote enables more authenticity, which is essential for relationship building.

I have had great success with my team in arranging online celebrations, such as Virtual Xmas drinks etc, where all join online. Its key that the participants in one locations do not gather in a room, to have a few on a screen in the room. All need to be individually online. This is also true for any other meetings we do.

In my team, we encourage each other to share a "Tip of the week" and "my most valuable insight this week". We do this with humor and laughter online, using emojis to cheer each other on in the meeting. We are also very informal and encouraging to being role models in adaptation, we try out all new things together.

Establish how how often and the formality of communication. This will likely be determined by the nature of your relationship. 3. Ensure to check in with them outside of what your needs are. Relationship-building involves two people not just one.
