They accommodate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, making them flexible for diverse data types. 2.Data lakes do minimal processing upon data ingestion, allowing for data cleaning, transformation and loading (ETL)at a later stage. 3.Lakes are schema-on-read, meaning the schema is applied when data is accessed or analyzed. 4.Data lakes can easily scale horizontally and are cost-effective to accommodate vast amounts of data, making them suitable for big data scenarios. In summary, data lakes are designed for flexibility scalability, and accepting raw data of various types.
