Performance conversation & reflection should be a continuous process for both self and the manager. The discussion should always focus on the impact on the larger business goal for that period, linked with the vision and mission of the org. When you are setting up self/team / Org goals or self evaluating or evaluating the team, focus on 4 areas - which are the fundamentals of running any successful enterprise. 1) What’s the financial impact that you seek to create for your org. 2) What’s the value that you want to create for your clients / customers 3) How do you drive / retain the core culture or ethos of the business / org. 4) How will the team work and perform as a cohesive unit 5) Self development areas to achieve above 4

Align individual or department goals with organizational strategic goals that are measurable. Make them realistic goals and have a stretch goal to quantify high performance. If possible alignment of all goals to the organizational mission, vision and values. This provides context and meaning to the people doing the work.

In a business administration partnership role, goals could include increasing partner engagement by 20% in a quarter or achieving a 15% growth in revenue through collaborative projects. Metrics might involve tracking partner satisfaction scores, revenue generated from joint initiatives, or the number of successful cross-promotional campaigns.

If you cannot measure it you cannot manage it. For sales people having clear goals with a road map are key. Closing the deal is the result of a process guided by KPI's and value drivers. The KPI's are activities (pipeline) that lead to the deal, value drivers are actions needed to generate activities. Results (sales) = Effort (work) * Effectiveness (skill) If today's results are there and the pipeline is full and actions are good then congrats the review is done. If not then you have a place to drill down and see where they might need help. Could be an effort or effectiveness issue. Once you identify you have a good starting point for coaching, looking for incremental gains.
