There is only so much in my opinion that Data Engineering should do. We can do a lot but, the question is, should we? The problem with work arounds is that they hide the true scope of the data quality problem. Using techniques like anomaly detection using Pytorch AutoEncoder only work when we know what we're dealing with. Make sure that the data is good. You need the data owner for this. They need to tell you what normal looks like. You need historical data for model training and real-time using the Pytorch model for detection. Model Drift is a real problem, so test model accuracy frequently. Your pipeline is ideally positioned to orchestrate this. Your business will need to tell you what threshold triggers an alert
