2 How to conduct cost-benefit analysis?

One of the most overlooked facts when applying cost-benefit analysis for selecting trade partners is that CBA doesn't paint the full picture- "A" is the lowest bidder with a reputation for recuperating costs by high markups on change orders. Selecting A helps with cash flow, more budget to operate on contingency and keeping prices competitive. "B" gives a price higher than A during the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process. However, B has a long working history with you. Superintendent from B's firm has a proactive approach, works well with the contractor's team and the Project Manager submits fair change orders which rarely require revision. If you analyze past projects, B will always turn out to be the better choice in the long run.
