Fundamental questions for Assets are: - what are my assets? (building, A/C, pumps, lift etc) - where are my assets (fixed location, semi fixed like moving assets, linear like roads or moving like fleet) - how are my assets ( state, history, risks level, condition, time to replace etc...) Therefore for optimum tracking you need to know what is your asset, with proper identification, class, category, manufacturer, documentation etc, where is the asset (GPS, RTLS, RFID, NFC or just barcodes, CAD and BIM model aligned with physical reality), and how is your assets (health monitoring,Condition Based Maintenance, visual inspection and checklist IoT and predictive etc)

part 2: Depending on asset classification / cost / risk matrix / safety, you will adapt the tracking method. Tracking an old video projector can be done with simple QR code and view in the hierarchy, but something more critical like a lift may need more IoT, predictive, critical spare parts availability etc
