The planning method I’ve found to be most effective begins with the assessment. Reviewing the assessment or creating your assessment at the beginning,not the end of your unit is key. The purpose is not to “teach to the test” but to ensure that students are provided opportunity to explore and practice using what they learn and exposure to essential standards and content. This includes key vocabulary, visuals, and real world application.
