Maintaining eye contact and smiling are absolutely the MOST critical factors when it comes to body language during a presentation. If you are sour-faced, who will want to listen? Absolutely no one! Additionally, using hand gestures in an expressive way draws people to us and our words. There are also different aspects to consider based on if your presentation is virtual or on a real stage. Your entire body comes into play when you are in person. This includes where you stand in relation to the audience and the slides (if you have them); and if you pace or pause during your talk. It's actually best to practice and videotape yourself to make sure your appearance and body language are not distracting from the talk.

Sometimes I will say a word incorrectly. (I meant to say one thing, and another phrase came from my mouth.) I used to feel embarrassed. Not anymore. If I goof, I laugh over it and then correct myself. I just did this on a video recording. I talked about two points and meant to raise two fingers. I only raised one. The minute I realized this, I help up the second finger. I just laughed. That's being authentic and real.
