How can you use BIM to build more accessible and inclusive facilities?

I believe it starts in Design/Coordination, I think end user should have a representative in all calls. I cant tell you how many times i have thought "Ohhh I would not want that there!?!"

One of the latest technologies that happening these days is "Using the AI in BIM", which is a good example of accessing the current situation. By using your Mobile take photos from the real constructed elements on the site. By uploading those photos on the cloud platform, it will detect the information of element (For example:- this element is a Pipe, Pipe system is drainage, size is 150mm dia., the slope is 0.8%, the invert level is 3560 mm, and so on.....).

Having access to real-time and up-to-date information about the building or infrastructure project models is very important at every stage. This includes accurate data on the physical characteristics, components, systems, and conditions of the project. With this access, designers, engineers, and stakeholders can make informed decisions, track progress, identify issues, and simulate various scenarios based on the most recent information provided to them. It ensures that the virtual representation aligns with the actual state of the project, promoting accuracy and efficiency throughout the design and construction process.

Communication is the key. If you want to produce an accessible project, you have to start by communicating. Communicate with future users of the premises, from managers to field operatives. Yes, even in a prison, you have to talk to the inmates to understand and take into account their needs. We can then translate all this data into information that will be added to our digital twin.
