To use APQP for services, you need to follow the five phases and adapt them to your specific service context and scope. For example, during the plan and define phase, you should identify the scope, objectives, and specifications of your service, as well as the customer needs and expectations. This can be done with tools such as project charter, stakeholder analysis, QFD, Kano model, and SIPOC. During the product design and development phase, create and test your service concept, features, and components with service blueprint, prototyping, testing, and FMEA. The process design and development phase requires you to define and optimize your service delivery process with process flowchart, value stream mapping, lean principles, and control plan. In the product and process validation phase verify and validate that your service meets the quality standards and customer requirements with pilot testing, customer feedback, audits, and performance indicators. Finally, during the feedback, assessment, and corrective action phase monitor and measure your service performance with surveys, complaints, reviews, PDCA cycle, and 8D.
