Agile shines when the feedback cycles are short and iteration is possible. Many projects in biotech unfortunately don't meet these criteria. Some of the challenges involved are: - regulatory constraints restrict the flexibility that Agile relies on - product may not be "iterate-able," such as drug products - customer involvement may be limited or not feasible This isn't to say that Agile is a lost cause. It may still apply and to well in certain use cases, but it's important to evaluate whether the Agile methodology is appropriate before applying it to a project.

Agile relies on iteration, customer communication, and short feedback cycles. This is why it's so popular in software. Software can be shipped in draft form, and iterated upon as early customers use the software and provide feedback. This is hard to achieve in biotech, as biotech products generally have long feedback cycles. That said, Agile can be used for internal projects that do have a short feedback cycle. Here are some examples where Agile can shine in a biotech setting: - Internal data analysis tools - Process improvement projects - Sales and marketing collateral creation To sum up: any projects where the feedback cycles are short, customers can be actively engaged, and the product is iterate-able, could be well suited for Agile.
