I agree with all of those points, especially the part about assessing the gap between their current skills and knowledge and where we want them to be, and the blended training methods. However, it's important to remember the significance of on-site training, where they can directly observe how a supply chain really operates for both inbound and outbound operations. This experience will help strengthen the theoretical skills and knowledge they have gained.

Because of its scope, SC might be the biggest number of warm bodies contributor in an organization. As such, training should be focused, efficient and effective to manage the cost related to training. Training can be classified into 1. Skills 2. Behavioral. Training can therefore be focused on these two depending on the needs of the position of the person ie. If rank and file more of skills. If managerial more on behavioral.
