Cyber attacks on mobile networks can target different layers of the network architecture, such as the core network, the radio access network, or the user equipment. Common types of such attacks are distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks which flood the network with traffic and requests to overwhelm its capacity and availability, eavesdropping and interception attacks that capture and analyze data transmitted over the network, spoofing and impersonation attacks that manipulate identities or credentials of legitimate users or devices to gain unauthorized access or perform malicious actions, as well as malware and ransomware attacks that infect devices or systems with malicious software to steal, encrypt, or destroy data.
