Yes, this is important. In my school, the curriculum is a fast-paced one. Thus, the blended learning activity must somehow tackle what we want to achieve by the end of the term so it will not be a waste of lesson time. In my experience with my current Primary 1 students, I prefer using blended learning for mastery of content or practice, which mainly using the iPad as a tool. Students loved it.

With the plethora of tools available, it’s very important to select and use the ones which add value to the teaching and learning process of mathematics. Subject specific tools like GeoGebra and Desmos top the list for me. Both have the option of assigning tasks to students and get them to work in synchronous or asynchronous mode.
