So your goal is to "get promoted", right? What exactly are you looking for? Higher status, better pay, more responsibility, a leadership role etc. are external parameters & not necessarily related to internal parameters of growth. Make sure you know what you are looking for: A) Looking for external status symbols? Then find out - What criteria are critical for this promotion? - Who is involved in the decision? - How can I excel in regards to the key criteria to the key persons? B) Personally, I recommend to lean into your internal place of strengths & allow success to grow from your core: - What am I really good at? - What do I do with ease? - What do I truly enjoy? Look for your areas of excellence, ease and joy, and invest in these.

It's really important to work smarter not harder and embrace activities that can leave high impact on organizations financially or leaning the process, the best approach is the 20/80 where to apply 20% effort to have 80% outcome results.
