The future of marketing is not only understanding your audience, but knowing how the traditional straight line path to purchase funnel has changed. Today’s buyer chooses their own creative path, and presents marketers an opportunity to convert them at any stage in their journey. The usual predictability of awareness to discovery to sale can now happen at any stage, and advocacy can happen swiftly as well. Buyers will also leave the journey quickly if at any time something negative touches them like a poor online review or unenthusiastic social media talk. Loyalty and advocacy with today’s buyer is fleeting if you miss your opportunity to help and delight them when given the opportunity to serve them.

The future consumer will be a Metaverse consumer. Consumption is evolving from Brick-n-Mortar retailing to eCommerce and Social Media Commerce. But what comes next is Meta-Commerce. All brands and retailers need a QAIMETA strategy driven by AI DigiTransform and Metaverse strategies. Above all failure to digitize will lead marketers way behind the curve and uncompetitive. In this environment, all marketing will be 1:1 and delivering an immersive customer experience (CX). Only AI will be able to deliver this. And marketing and branding must embrace this approach.

According to me, Today's marketing uses broad tactics to reach mass audiences. However, future disruption will enable hyper-personalized, predictive engagement using AI to analyze individual behaviors and craft customized experiences. Marketing will shift from interrupting people to adding value in the moment via location-based alerts, personalized recommendations, and anticipating needs pre-search. To capitalize, marketers must sharpen their focus on 1:1 consumer relationships over 1:many broadcasts. Honing data science skills will be key to harnessing AI and automation intelligently. Embracing this pivot from disruption to personalization will future-proof success.

To succeed in the future, marketers must become familiar with their data sources and automation. Being a "human in the loop" working with AI doesn't mean losing your job. Being re-skilled to steer and manage how AI does jobs for you is the future. It takes data to train LLMs and other AI models. You can start with your first-party data. Google and Apple will soon further restrict access to data, and having a CRM, CDP, or MDM helping you manage first-party data is your immediate priority. Once you've unified and resolved the data you have today, you'll learn more about your current customer than you've ever known. You'll also then be ready to pursue AI-enabled operations and customer experiences.

Organizations that are incorporating artificial intelligence in their B2B sales and marketing business to predict likely new customers, opportunity for upgrades, lead generation, demand generation, branding campaigns, and future customer churn, are well ahead of the game. Capturing the digital exhaust data from sales, service, online visits, clicks, searches, chat, email, etc. can collectively drive critical insights into the customer journey. However, AI can also be a game changer when it comes to improving your leadership ability as well. AI will never replace the need for human marketing leadership, but will be an essential partner in allowing top professionals the time and information they need to make smart decisions.

In a highly digitalized world, a Marketer needs to possess: - unprecedented technological proficiency - an analytical Mindset to interpret (huge amount of) data and transform them in actionable driving business results - ability to master a new “kind” of storytelling aimed at breaking through a noisy and crowded digital space, where attention is scarse. Working for over two decades in the field, I would recommend: 1/ Go out and try any new tool you can find, open your mind to innovation , don't stick to what everyone use. 2/ Marketing is about TRYING , and trying means growth hacking, so take your courage and go try , failing means learning . 3/ Follow successful process, If You Master The Process, The Results Will Follow , then you can create shot cut and innovate . Keep you mind open to anything around you , cause marketing is based 50% analytics and 50% emotional intelligence

As we stand on the precipice of an AI revolution, marketing's horizon isn’t just about adapting to technology but redefining our bond with it and the tales we weave. We have to embrace Digital Dualism, and acknowledge the intertwining of one's offline and online personas - to address both in our strategies. We will need to use AI for insights, but still anchor campaigns with human emotion. Also, there is a shift toward knowledge integration, from psychology, art, and technology and all of this combines to target even niche psychographics. In all of this, we must also not lose sight of ethical practices. I would say that the marketer of tomorrow is a storyteller, balanced between creativity and computation.

For more than 20 years, marketing has been characterized by digital transformation and disruption. Interestingly, despite all the disruption, the basic rules of marketing remain the same: Sell unique value to people. Be clear in product design and market presence. everything else is zeitgeist.

It's vital for enhancing not only consistent brand awareness through online presence, but also build a more approachable and trustworthy name leading to a strengthened SEO. It's cost-effective and supports all other surround and integrated marketing strategies, generating high quality leads thus sales through engaging content in blogs, videos, and social media platforms. Additionally, it allows brands to adapt to new trends and technologies, ensuring relevance in a dynamic market. For new age marketers, content marketing and excellence is crucial for building a loyal and consistent customer base.

My content marketing lightbulb moment was when I was introduced to the concept of content optimisation. Everyone knows content is king (or queen!) so if you are producing high quality, engaging content then it should lend itself to being reused. Take a blog entry. You can break that copy down into numerous social media posts, put it in the company newsletter, tailor it to specific client accounts, submit it to third party publications or even quote the content is bigger papers. 6 months later you can revisit the content, revise it to ensure it's still relevant and then go again. This has been a game changer for me. Saving time, money and ensuring my content is top level because it's going to be used again and again.

Understanding how content supports your business strategy, positioning in the market and customer experience is the key to mastering content marketing. It's more than words.

Now, audiences crave stories that elicit emotions, be it humor, nostalgia, or inspiration. So, weave narratives with these human elements but remember to stay authentic. Use a multi-layered approach - Infographics that narrate a story or podcasts that incorporate visual elements. I think flexibility is vital now - while creating consistent value also be ready to quickly adapt to trends and it is here that AI can be used best. So, essentially, 3 things can help you master content - deep emotional resonance, technological adeptness, and an unwavering commitment to value.

Your posts should reflect your brand's tone, personality, and values consistently across all platforms. Thoughtful content that solves problems or entertains tends to be shared more often, inherently increasing your brand's visibility. Influencer collaborations can further enhance credibility and reach. But the true magic happens when selling and branding efforts are harmoniously integrated -when you can engage and also enable purchases - that's when you know you have a winning strategy.

Social media is changing. There are now echo chambers so people are being limited to what they are exposed to. Social media is also very segmented and different age groups and interest groups choose very specific channels, whether channels start to merge in the future and new channels emerge, its important to understand their value. Social media is really about connecting and at its best it is authentic.

I could not agree more. Social media is changing the game when it comes to content format. We saw this with TikTok which led to IG Reels, short form of content, 30 secs or less over long 3+ min videos. Of course, it does depend on the brand and its audience, but testing out new content forms should be part of the marketing strategy. Leaning into new formats like using AI and AR/VR are ways brands can stand out and stay ahead of the curve. Users get bored easily and that is true, especially with mindlessly scrolling on SM. That disruption can have a positive effect on brand awareness and recognition.

Experimenting new formats is the name of the game, we often consider titles as engagement points in B2B marketing- e.g. the CISO/CIO/CTO are also picking up new models to learn about technology and converse with peers. In order to reach them too and drive quality marketing engaged leads, you need to try new models - reference videos, advertorials, programmatic ads etc

This can be a significant brand differentiator While video might dominate engagement metrics, the power of podcasts for thought leadership or infographics for breaking down complex topics can't be ignored. Interactive quizzes can educate & and entertain.

Let's draw on behavioral economics, recognizing that human decision-making is context-dependent. Try introducing your products or services in unfamiliar contexts where they shine in unexpected ways. For example, instead of a standard webinar that everyone is doing nowadays, what if we offer a "walking podcast" where we ask our audience to go for a walk while listening? The change in context could alter their receptiveness to our message.

It doesn’t matter how many courses you take or how many certifications you have if you are not able to apply what you have learned. Be open to boldly trying new things - inspiration can come from truly unexpected sources!

So, what's the best way to keep learning and growing? 1. Expose yourself to new ideas and perspectives. Going to conferences, listening to podcasts and reading books are a good start. 2. Experiment. Try something new and document your learnings. Embrace failure and the opportunity to learn from it. 3. Observe and talk to younger people. They know what's coming up. Their behaviors, attitudes and preferences may make you feel like a grandpa / grandma ??, but they can provide clues on where consumer preferences are going. 4. Talk to your customers regularly.

If you keep an eye on the latest trends and innovations in your field, as well as how they affect your industry, niche, and audience, it will benefit you. From my perspective, education is the key to staying relevant and knowing your niche. (Yes, that means you probably need a niche.) AI is everywhere but marketing is more than data points and algorithms. People engage. People build relationships. As Marketers, we have to be curious about what’s next. And we have to embrace AI. Never confuse lead generation with demand generation as they are distinctively different. Lead generation is transactional, with lots of cold calling, cold emailing, and high pressure to quickly create a funnel of leads to close sales. Demand generation is transformational with a longer time invested in branding, getting to know prospects, providing value, thought leadership, content creation, social media interactions, sharing positive testimonials, and nurturing leads until sales and marketing open up a relationship and converts them into a long term customer. If after acquiring new customers you still have a high churn rate, you either are too dependent on traditional lead generation tactics, or have a poor demand generation strategy.

Continuous learning and testing/experimenting with new technologies and tools is indispensable in the era of AI and digital transformation. My additional advice for this collaborative article is as follows: 1.) Focus on Micro-Moments — meaning, Marketers have to understand how they can help or provide information to their target audiences in the given moment and throughout the appropriate channel. 2.) Data-centered Customer Lifecycle Planning is crucial! — ask yourself: “Where can you improve the Customer Experience at certain customer touchpoints and do things better than your competitors do?” 3.) Continuously measure & analyze outcomes including customer feedback, Social Media comments, etc. 4.) Invest in post-purchase relationships!

It's always tempting to go after the latest trends - but when times are tough, it's always great to remind yourself of the basics: - Balance your brand building with your performance marketing - you'll need the brand to work hard for you when the economy is tough - Who you *think* your customers are is not the same as *knowing* who your customers are - you may be targeting one group but actually it's a sub-group or another segment entirely that's actually buying - Commercial success, quality customers and the bottom line financials are OUR responsibility as marketers. Marketing is as much about the commercials as the creative (probably more so!)
