Quantity or Quality is the question, I have found quality can make sense more of the time for a focused approach, but it really can depend on the role you are applying to. If your portfolio is password protected, ensure to include the password in your application or an email to the team.

Making stuff , Anybody who even orbits the game industry has a passion or love for playing games so playing them a ton is nice but that doesn't tell me you love the work of creating. We also live in the influencer era so just making videos is nice but again that doesn't tell me that you love creating. To me the mark of passion is creating an actual thing ( model, concept art, playable game, Level design mockup, narrative scenario or character outlines) The side projects, the little "crappy" demo you made that makes you feel embarassed to show but you light up when discussing ? If you light up when talking about how you figured out a problem in your creative process to me that speaks to me most about your passion for creating games.
